McGrath, who has been a commentator on the series of limited overs between the two teams, reserved special praise for left arm pacemaker T Natarajan, who has been excellent so far on his debut tour with Team India.

Natrajan, who was initially tied up as a net pitcher for the Australian tour, has now made his ODI and T20I debut in Australia and is impressed with his bowling. Natarajan had replaced the injured Varun Chakravarthy on the T20I team before the start of the series of limited overs and was later also selected on the ODI team.

Natarajan made his ODI debut in the third and final game of the series where he returned with two wickets to help India win the game and finish the series 2-1. The left arm pacemaker made his T20I debut against the Australians in the current series and has played both games so far. It has 5 plots to its name in two T20Is and is India’s top land taker so far in the series.

“I was very impressed with Natarajan. It is definitely the find of this India tour, hopefully it continues, ”McGrath said during the commentary at the second Q20 between India and Australia on Sunday. The Australian legend also revealed that he had worked with Natarajan at the MRF rhythm academy in India a few years ago and that the left arm locksmith has seen tremendous growth since then.

In the second T20I against Australia on Sunday, Natarajan was the choice of Indian bowlers in a high-scoring contest. He was very economical in his four-plus spell and came back in 2/20 numbers claiming the wickets from starter D’Arcy Short and Moises Henriques to help India clinch the series 2-1 after a 6 wickets win in Sydney. .

Natarajan is likely to keep his place in the XI game when India meet Australia in the third and final Q20 on Tuesday.
