The upcoming four-match series between India and Australia is expected to be a cricket fan’s delight with some of the biggest and most followed cricketers facing each other for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Choosing one of them is not an easy task. But not for Brian Lara. The West Indies legend had only one name on his mind when he asked for his player’s name for the next series.
Praising India hitter KL Rahul, Lara said she would pay to see the right hitter when former Australia captain Ricky Ponting asked her to pick her favorite player.

“Brian, who is your favorite player in international cricket right now?” Ponting asked while organizing a discussion for 7 cricket, the host presenter of the India vs Australia Test series with Lara and Sunil Gavaskar.
“That’s easy! It’s KL Rahul. If you’re talking about the two teams that are playing, KL Rahul is for me. He’s someone I would pay to watch to hit,” Lara said.
The sleek left-hander said that the way Rahul scores in the game’s shortest format by playing correct cricket shots is what makes him special.
“In the world, Jofra Archer is great, Nicholas Pooran is there, but I love seeing KL Rahul, especially in T20, I know he’s going to try cricket, but in T20 when you see a guy hitting correctly with the ability to score racing with traditional shots, it’s just exceptional to watch, ”added Lara.

Sharing his take on Rahul, who is returning to the Indian Test side on the back of his cue ball form, Ponting said that the Karnataka right-hander appeared to be a good test cricketer when he first arrived, but was Commendable the way He shaped his game to become a very successful limited limit hitter.
“It is interesting for me. If you wind the clock 2-3 years ago, he was probably a technically correct test hitter, but what he has been able to do with his T20 hitting in the last 2 IPL has been incredible. He’s probably now become a better white ball player. That doesn’t happen that often, ”Ponting added.
Rahul held ground for India throughout the series of limited overs, but did not appear in either warm-up game in the run-up to the test series. It will be interesting to see if he gets the nod ahead of Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw in the first test in Adelaide starting December 17th.
