IND vs AUS live: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill during day 5 of the fourth test.© AFP
Despite losing an early wicket, India has gained some momentum against Australia on Day 5 of the fourth and final test match in progress, at The Gabba in Brisbane. The hosts have recorded crucial terrain from Rohit Sharma, with Pat Cummins firing him. The responsibility now falls on Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill, who are currently undefeated. The equation is simple. Australia, playing in their seemingly impenetrable fortress, has to take nine wickets now. India needs to score more than 300 runs. With the series tied 1-1, a tie will see the honors shared and the visitors will retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy. An exhausted bowling attack from India knocked out Australia by 294 on Day 4, with Mohammed Siraj taking his first five-course round, setting India a goal of 328 runs. With a deteriorating field, a result on the undercard seems likely, but there is a chance that it will rain in Brisbane, which may draw the game. With the game finely balanced and the three possible outcomes, an exciting ending to a drama series is at stake at the Gabba. (LIVE SCORE CARD)
