Shubman Gill was fired for 45 runs of 65 deliveries by Pat Cummins, following a lead to Tim Paine. Cummins also represented Pujara’s wicket, with Paine making a good one-handed catch. The Indian team led by Ajinkya Rahane finished day 1 in the driver’s seat. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin shared seven wickets when Australia was pitched for 195 in the first innings.
