India on Saturday summoned the Pakistani High Commissioner Charge d’Affaires to register a strong protest over heavy bombardment by Pakistani forces in multiple sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday that left at least nine dead people. .

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) said that India also condemned, in the strongest terms, the “deliberate targeting” of innocent civilians by Pakistani forces, saying that it was highly regrettable that Pakistan chose an occasion festive in India to disturb the peace. and perpetrating violence in Jammu and Kashmir through coordinated shootings throughout the LoC.

“The Charge d’Affaires of the High Commission of Pakistan was summoned today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a strong protest was made against the unprovoked violations of the ceasefire by Pakistani forces, in multiple sectors throughout the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on November 13, resulting in the death of four innocent civilians and serious injuries to 19 others, “the MEA said.

Apart from civilians, five members of the security personnel were killed in the Pakistani offensive.

“India also vigorously protested Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorist infiltration into India, including by supporting cover fire provided by Pakistani forces,” the MEA said.

“Pakistan was once again reminded of its bilateral commitment not to allow any territory under its control to be used for terrorism against India in any way,” he said.

Indian forces retaliated heavily for Friday’s bombing and army sources said there have been multiple casualties on the Pakistani side.

About 6-7 Pakistani army soldiers, including two SSG (Special Service Group) commandos, were killed and between 10 and 12 wounded, army sources said.

Several bunkers, fuel depots and launch pads of the Pakistani army have been destroyed and set on fire, they added. Videos released by the army showed the destruction of the targets.
