India has recorded 54,87,580 COVID-19 cases so far with 86,961 new infections, while 1,130 deaths on Monday brought the total death count to 87,882. A total of 93,356 patients recovered from the infection in the country in one day. This is the third consecutive day that the number of daily recoveries is greater than the number of daily cases.
With 43.96,399 people in the country who have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall recovery rate is 80.11%.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan informed the Lok Sabha that more than four coronavirus vaccines are in advanced stages of preclinical testing in India. Amid a surge in cases, Rajasthan has imposed prohibition orders in 11 districts, including the state capital, Jaipur, as of today.
Ten districts of Chhattisgarh, including the state capital, Raipur, have been blocked since today. India is the country with the second highest number of coronavirus cases in the world after the United States.

Hong Kong Disneyland to reopen this week amid coronavirus restrictions
Hong Kong Disneyland said on Tuesday that it will reopen on Friday to a reduced number of visitors and limited days, with improved health measures after the latest wave of coronavirus infections forced it to close again in mid-July.

Over 1 lakh recover from Covid in one day, cases exceed 55 lakh mark
India has achieved record recoveries of 1,01,468 COVID-19 patients in the past 24 hours, data from the Ministry of Health shows over the past 24 hours.

US Health Agency Removes Coronavirus Airborne Guideline

The now-retired guide, posted on the agency’s website on Friday, recommended that people use air purifiers to reduce germs in the air indoors to prevent the disease from spreading.
“The CDC is updating its recommendations regarding the airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2. Once this process is complete, update language will be released,” the agency said.
The health agency had said that COVID-19 could be spread via airborne particles that can remain suspended in the air and travel beyond six feet.
More than 4.2 lakh fined for violating COVID-19 regulations in Uttarakhand
More than 4.22 lakh people have been fined in Uttarakhand for failing to comply with COVID-19 regulations, including not wearing masks when going outdoors, since the shutdown began. So far, the state has collected a fine of about 15 million rupees from this, reported Director General of Police (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar.

UK Coronavirus Alert Level Rises As Cases Rise

Coronavirus cases in Mexico exceed 700,000
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Mexico exceeded 700,000, according to updated data from Health Ministry officials, along with a reported death toll of 73,697.

Kerala reported 2,910 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, while 3,022 patients who were in treatment recovered. This is the highest number of recoveries reported in a single day so far.

Meghalaya Prime Minister Conrad K Sangma made clear on Monday that his government is not in favor of imposing more lockdown on the state again, despite the increase in COVID-19 cases.
“The lockdown is not really a solution, but only a mechanism to delay the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, the government will not impose a greater lockdown … We cannot just shut down the economy,” he told reporters after presiding over a review meeting.

As of Monday, the state has recorded a total of 4,734 COVID-19 cases of which 2,169 are active, while 2,527 people have recovered from the disease. So far, thirty-eight people have died from the virus.
