There has been a continuous decrease in the daily average of new cases during the last five weeks; from around 73,000 new Covid-19 cases that were reported in early October to around 49,000 current cases across the country.

“The new cases continue their downward slope, which indicates the adoption of the Appropriate Behavior of Covid-19 among the population and effective containment measures by the State / UT governments following the guidelines of the Government of the Union. New daily cases on average show a downward trend in the last five weeks, “said the Ministry of Health in a statement.
“This trend has also reversed the recovery rate to cross 93% today. The accumulated national figure is 93.05%. The total of recovered cases amounts to 81,63,572. The gap between recovered cases and active cases, which is constantly increasing, currently stands at 76,82,853, ”the statement read.
The gap between recovered Covid-19 cases and active cases has been steadily increasing, and the trend of daily new recoveries outnumbering daily new cases continues through the 42nd day.

In addition, 75.38% of the new recovered cases are contributed by 10 States and Territories of the Union, and a similar number of States has contributed with 76.38% of the new cases.
The 10 states reporting a maximum of Covid-19 cases so far in the country are Delhi, Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.
“Except in a few states, the outbreak is generally very under control in the country. However, that doesn’t mean we can afford to let our guard down; It is extremely important to strictly adhere to proper Covid-19 behavior such as wearing a mask when going out, maintaining physical detachment, and hand hygiene to keep infection at bay. This is the key to cutting the cycle of transmission of the virus, “said a senior official from the Ministry of Health, who did not want to be identified.
“It is even more important to be careful at this time when it is feared that the drop in temperature increases the risk of a more rapid spread of the infection,” added the official.
