India may have lost the ODI series, but Virat Kohli & co. they can get back in a positive frame of mind before the test series if they manage to win the T20I tournament, which is of greater importance at the moment. The T20I World Cup will be hosted by India next year and the next three-match series will be an opportunity for the two favorites, India and Australia, to get a taste of the competition. India is likely to play a similar team to the one they played in the ODIs, except there may be a big call in the bowling department.

Here’s our XI planned for India for the first Q20 against Australia:
Shikhar Dhawan: Shikhar Dhawan started the tour well with a decent performance in the first ODI, but has struggled in the last two games. I would be eager to shoot in the first T20I.
Mayank Agarwal: Mayank Agarwal, who was eliminated in the third ODI, will be looking forward to a performance similar to what he showed at the IPL.
Virat Kohli (c): Virat Kohli has logged two and a half centuries, but still hasn’t been able to get a ton this year. The first T20I could be the game when it hits the mark.
Shreyas Iyer: Shreyas Iyer has managed to start, but has failed to turn them into big innings. He needs to show why he is still the best player for India’s number 4 batting position.
KL Rahul (week): KL Rahul would rather hit over the top, especially in T20I, but he would have to settle for no. 5 role for now.
Hardik Pandya: Hardik Pandya has been the star of the India tour so far, and this is the format in which he always brings out his best. Australia will not take it lightly.
Ravindra Jadeja: Ravindra Jadeja may have had a bit of trouble with the ball, but his performance in the third ODI with the bat will see him as part of the team.
Washington Sundar: Yuzvendra Chahal was not in top form in the ODI, and he could make way for Washington Sundar on the team, who may also give India an additional hitting option.
Jasprit Bumrah: Jasprit Bumrah will look forward to returning to the lethal form he had in the UAE during the 2020 IPL.
