The Center today extended the national blockade by another two weeks. This time, however, more services will be allowed to resume, especially in virus-free areas and areas with minimal cases.

The economic cost of the crippling national blockade has become too obvious to ignore, with automaker Maruti selling zero units in all of April. All growth indicators are heading south, revenue collection has fallen off a cliff, and companies desperately seek to await this disaster.
