Gujarat, in particular, has been showing an interesting trend. In the last three weeks, the number of new infections reported by the state each day have fallen very well into the 300-400 bracket. Only an increased and unusual was observed during this period, the 16 of May, when the state had reported more than 1,000 cases, but that was because it had added more than 700 cases they were discovered during a special week of the unit to detect infection among those who are considered high-risk groups.
Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have also been reporting very stable numbers, between 150 and 300 infections each day.
The increase in the number of new infections is, therefore, driven by Maharashtraand for the moment, by Tamil Nadu and Delhi. Maharashtra, which had about one-fifth of India all the number of cases of two months ago, now represents more than a third of all confirmed cases of infection in the country. In the last ten days, however, has contributed more than 40 percent of the India of new infections.
