In an attempt to guarantee social distancing and stop overcrowding in liquor stores, the Delhi government launched an electronic token system to buy liquor.

People can request an electronic token through the link https://www.qtoken.in/. A person will need to enter their name and phone number and an electronic coupon will be sent to their registered mobile phone number.

Then the person can go to the nearby store, show the electronic token and buy liquor. The government said this will help reduce overcrowding and guarantee social distancing in liquor stores.

A large group of Indian medical students stranded in Bangladesh due to closure will be evacuated shortly on a first special flight from Dhaka. The 167 students from Kashmir are enrolled in medical schools in Dhaka and were trapped after India declared the closure on March 24.

The special Air India flight will depart at 11 a.m. on Friday from Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport and arrive in Srinagar in the afternoon. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has expanded the sampling and testing facilities, with more than 3,000 samples and 1,000 tests daily.

103 deaths in the last 24 hours, says the Ministry of Health

India has recorded 3,390 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 103 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to an update from the Union Ministry of Health on Friday.

New HP COVID-19 Case, count increased to 48

One more person tested positive for coronavirus in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 48, an official said.

Hamirpur had become coronavirus-free on April 29 after the last two patients in the district tested negative for the infection.

Himachal Pradesh has seven active cases with two in Chamba, and one in each of Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur and Kangra districts, according to officials.

While 34 people have recovered, three have died. Four people were flown to other states for treatment.
