“India, in these times of crisis, has fulfilled its global responsibilities from the beginning by creating infrastructure related to vaccination. “Last year, in February-March, many experts said that India will be the worst affected country, there will be tsunamis of cases. They predicted 2 million deaths in the country. But India moved forward with proactive public participation.” Said the prime minister. .

“Today, India is among the countries that have managed to save the most lives. The country, which comprises 18% of the world’s population, has saved the world from disaster by controlling the situation.”

Prime Minister Modi also said that India had launched the world’s largest vaccination program. “In just 12 days, India has vaccinated more than 2.3 million health workers,” he said.

“The next vaccines will help other countries at a faster rate to fight the pandemic,” he added.

The prime minister outlined the steps his government had taken to deal with the impact of Covid, including ease of doing business and reforms.

“I want to assure the business world that the situation will now change rapidly also on the economic front,” he said during a question and answer session with global CEOs in which he invited companies from around the world to participate in the country’s growth.

India, he said, had focused on reforms, especially incentive-based stimulus, even during the coronavirus crisis.

“Even during the coronavirus, we accelerated structural reforms and emphasized incentive schemes linked to production. Despite the pandemic, FDI increased by 13 percent in India in 2020,” he said.

India continued its economic activities with infrastructure works worth trillions of rupees, providing employment, the prime minister emphasized, adding: “We emphasized saving every life. India is now moving forward to become aatmanirbhar (self-sufficient).”

PM Modi invited global CEOs to invest in India under the Production Linked Incentives (PLI) scheme, saying it was expected to create a market base of products worth up to $ 520 billion.

During the interaction, he also said that the Covid crisis “has taught us the fundamentals of human values ​​and that Industry 4.0 is for humans, not robots.” Technology should be a tool for ease of life and not a trap, he stressed.
