Fit Indian batsman Shubman Gill lost his wicket in a unique way when the right-hander was caught in a slip on Day 2 of the ongoing tour game against Australia A at Sydney Cricket Ground.
Playing at 65, Shubman sought to throw spinner Mitchell Swepson’s ball and missed it completely. The pitcher appealed for lbw and, meanwhile, the ball traveled to the slip where Sean Abbott dived to his right and caught with one hand. The referee acknowledges that he gained an advantage when he ruled out being caught.
Gill delivered trapped, and what a catch it was too!

With no DRS or Snickometer technique available in the practice game, an unhappy Gill had to withdraw as the referee’s decision could not be contested. India lost its second spot after a 104-race partnership between Gill and Mayank Agarwal. India had lost its first second wicket on the day Prithvi Shaw was caught at the cover point.
How did Shubman come out? Definitely not LBW …. and there was no evidence to suggest he was caught in slips. #AUSAvIND
