Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Monday, where he will launch a series of infrastructure projects and attend a Dev Deepawali event.
Shortly after landing at Babatpur Airport, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Khajuri for his first public engagement, where he dedicated the expanded Handia (Prayagraj) -Rajatalab (Varanasi) section of National Highway 19 to the nation.
PM Modi began his speech with the chant “Har Har Mahadev” and wished a long greeting from Dev Deepawali and Gurupurab.
“The dedicated road today will benefit the people of Prayagraj along with the people of Kashi,” Prime Minister Modi said.
“Varanasi is getting an improved infrastructure because of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Dev Deepawali. This will benefit both Varanasi and Prayagraj, ”he added.
PM Modi said that the new path will be beneficial during Kumbh. “People had to face various problems while traveling between Kashi and Prayagraj. But with the expansion of the highway, not only will the problem end, it will also be beneficial during the Kumbh, ”he said.
The prime minister said the pace of infrastructure development has increased in Uttar Pradesh since Yogi Adityanath became prime minister in 2017.
“Everyone knows what the state of infrastructure was in UP before 2017. But after Yogi ji became prime minister, the speed of infrastructure development increased. Today UP is known as Express Pradesh, ”said Prime Minister Modi.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who accompanied Prime Minister Modi to public service in Khajuri, said: “Kashi is transforming while maintaining his seniority from the last six years. In the past six years, development plans worth 18 billion rupees have been launched or are under construction in Kashi. “
Prime Minister Modi will later address a meeting of workers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Mirzamurad area of the district. The Prime Minister will also visit the site of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor Project and the archaeological site of Sarnath.
The 73-kilometer stretch of the newly widened six-lane NH-19, carried out at a total cost of Rs 2,447 million, will reduce travel time between Prayagraj and Varanasi by one hour.
