Punjabi peasant leaders protesting on the Delhi borders have started traveling to different parts of the country from the site of dharna to connect them with the ongoing unrest. The protesting unions now plan to bring the unrest to 20 states covering nearly 500 districts by the end of December, the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) said.

As part of the plan, Satbir Singh, the secretary general of state for the Kirti Kisan Union (KKU), Punjab, was in Mumbai on Tuesday, where he participated in a protest rally organized by Swabhimani Paksha of former MP Raju Shetti and also by the social activist Pratibha. Shinde.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Satbir Singh said: “KKU’s national wing, All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha (AIKMS), was also part of this protest. He had come only from Punjab as KKU is part of 32 Punjab farmers unions protesting on a common platform … The NDA government is repeatedly saying that the protest is limited to Punjab, but in fact other unions states also call us. “

Jagmohan Singh Patiala, General Secretary of BKU (Dakaunda), said: “I will go to Patna on December 29 as many Bihar farmers organizations are organizing a mega protest rally that day and I will be there as a member of AIKSCC and also as a representative. of an agricultural union in Punjab. I will speak to local farmers and their union leaders. “

Speaking about the role of the Punjab trade unions in spreading the protest, P Krishnaprasad, AIKSCC working committee member and former Kerala MLA who is in Delhi these days, said: “Punjab is the engine of this agitation against agricultural laws. They started aandolan in a very peaceful way and reached the borders of Delhi, which gave strength to millions of farmers. Therefore, the leaders of Punjab are also traveling to other states, because the agricultural community and not a particular state is agitating against the agricultural laws. “
