IMD updates rain warning to orange alert, heavy rain likely in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad

The main areas in the northern, western and eastern suburbs recorded rainfall ranging between 20 and 40mm, while the southern areas of Mumbai recorded rainfall between 10 and 20mm. The meteorological office said the city and suburbs could see moderate to heavy rains with the possibility of very heavy rains in isolated areas.

Weather radars and satellite images indicate the development of dense clouds and the possibility of very heavy rains in some areas north of Konkan.
