A reverse image search with relevant keywords led us to an article published on a website called ‘UP Khabar’ on December 1, 2018. The article carried the viral image.
Several social media users had shared image Also on Twitter on November 30, 2018. We also noticed the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) logo on a man’s shirt in the viral image.
We then searched YouTube with the keywords “NDTV Ravish Kumar AIKS 2018” and found a video uploaded by the NDTV channel on November 29, 2018. The newsletter featured a field report from the Kisan Mukti March organized by the Committee of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination (AIKSCC) in Delhi.
The NDTV reporter can be seen wearing the same clothing in both images.
The fifthHe, too, had then reported on said Kisan March rally. Thousands of footsteps rumbled through the national capital as farmers from across the country marched towards Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.
The farmers’ rights group had demanded that the Indian Parliament convene a special session and pass two bills: the first bill related to the full one-time loan exemption as relief for debt-burdened farmers . The second bill was a long-term institutional measure to ensure that farmers did not go into debt again.
