BJP Senior Leader Uma Bharti urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allow politicians and media staff to meet with family members of Dalit women who were allegedly attacked in Hathras and later succumbed to their injuries at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
“You must have known that I was admitted to AIIMS Corona district after I was found positive for Covid. Today is my seventh day here. I have not been able to meet anyone. I was not present at the CBI special court hearing on the Babri Masjid case. Nor have I spoken to anyone on the phone. But I have been following the television news, ”wrote the BJP leader.
The lengthy tweet from the BJP leader comes shortly after a Trinamool delegation heading to meet the family was detained on Friday. On Thursday, Congressional leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were unable to visit Hathras and police cited the imposition of Section 144 as the reason for banning politicians. On Friday, family members were also not allowed to speak to the media.

Referring to the Hathras incident, Uma Bharti said she is sure the CM is handling the situation skillfully. “But the way the police have locked up the victim’s family offers several possibilities for debate and apprehension,” wrote the veteran BJP leader.
“The women belonged to a Dalit family. The police hastily carried out their last rites and now the family has been locked up. I am not aware of any rules that will prohibit a victim’s family if the SIT investigation is ongoing. This will raise questions about the SIT investigation only, ”wrote Uma Bharti.

Without a word, Uma Bharti denounced the action of the Uttar Pradesh police and said that the action of the UP police will tarnish the image not only of the UP government, but also the BJP government. The BJP leader also alluded to the recent dedication ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. “We are committed to bringing Ram Rajya back to the country,” he wrote.
“Your image as CM is very clean. I would ask you to allow media personnel and politicians, including those in the Opposition, to meet the family, ”wrote the veteran BJP leader.
Had Uma Bharti not tested positive for Covid-19, she would have visited the victim’s relatives in Hathras. “After I am released from here, I will definitely meet the family members,” he wrote.
“I am superior to you in the group and I am also like your older sister. I urge you not to dismiss my suggestions, “he added.
