‘I’ll remember him forever’: KL Rahul’s gesture that brought down rookie Cameron Green – cricket

The newest member of the Australian cricket team, Cameron Green, has admitted that he felt “recovered” by the warmth shown by India goalkeeper KL Rahul during the third ODI in Canberra on Friday. Green, who was making his Australian debut, revealed that he was nervous when he got in at bat, but Rahul was kind enough to share a few words that made the young man feel welcome.

“In fact, I was surprised by how nice KL Rahul was behind the stumps. He asked me if I was nervous or not and I just responded by saying ‘Yes, I was a little nervous’. He was like ‘Yeah, look good young man’. So I was actually a bit baffled, ”Green said after the game.

Green became the 230th player from Australia to play a day of international cricket for his country. After receiving his cap from former captain Steve Smith, Green threw four overs in which he was wicketless for 27 runs. With the bat, Green came in at No. 5 and scored 21 of 27 on a four and six before dying deep in Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling alley.

Green thought he would receive a slightly hostile reception, so he was much more surprised by Rahul’s gesture, something the 21-year-old admits he will always remember.

“I thought it would have been quite the opposite because (while bowling), I think Virat was trying to be quite loud at the time. Finchy tried to get under her skin with a few words. So yeah, I was a bit surprised at how nice it was. I will remember him forever, ”Green added.
