‘If that girl apologizes to Maharashtra …’: Sanjay Raut on Kangana Ranaut’s comment ‘Mumbai-PoK’

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said on Sunday that he will apologize to Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut only if she apologizes to Maharashtra for “calling Mumbai a mini Pakistan” amid calls for the politician to back down.

The war of words between the Rajya Sabha member and the Bollywood actor erupted on Thursday over Kangana Ranaut’s comment on “Mumbai feels like Pakistani-occupied Kashmir.” He had also said that he feared the Mumbai police more than what he has termed the “movie mafia”.

Raut, in his weekly editorial in Saamana, the Sena spokesman responded on Thursday, asking Ranaut not to return to Mumbai for criticizing the Mumbai police.

“If that girl (actor Kangana Ranaut) apologizes to Maharashtra, then I will think about it (apologizing). She calls Mumbai a mini Pakistan. Do you have the courage to say the same for Ahmedabad? Raut was quoted by the ANI news agency on Sunday.

“This issue concerns the pride of Maharashtra and there will be no compromise on this front. Ranaut needs to apologize for his PoK comments or he will face the music of our women’s wing, ”he had said in his editorial.

The verbal duel escalated on Saturday after Ranaut reacted to a Twitter user who claimed that the actor had not insulted the king of Maratha, Shivaji, and had called out the “warriors of freedom of expression” for not speaking in his Name.

“In 2008 Movie Mafia declared me psychopath, in 2016 they called me Witch and Stalker in 2020 Maharashtra The minister’s publicity gave me the title of Haramkhor Ladki, because I said that after a murder I feel insecure in Mumbai, where are the warriors of the debate on INTOLERANCE? “Ranaut had tweeted from his team account.
