NOIDA: Authorities in Gautam Buddh Nagar have sent two proposals to the UP government to establish a film city either in Noida or along the Yamuna Highway near the nearby Jewar International Airport, authorities said Monday.
‘India’s largest film city to emerge in Noida’
The Yamuna Highway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allocated 1,000 acres and the Noida Authority has identified 500 acres.
On September 18, the Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath He announced that his government would establish the “largest” and “most beautiful” film city in the country in the border district with Delhi and asked officials to identify a site for it.
“YEIDA sent a proposal to the state government on Sunday for a movie town on 1,000 acres in Sector 21,” said Special Service Officer Shailendra Bhatia.
Noida Authority Executive Director Ritu Maheshwari said the land they have identified spans sectors 162, 164, 165 and 166.
“About 200 acres of land is available and the rest will be purchased. We submitted a proposal for the movie town project on Monday,” Maheshwari said.
Noida already has a film city in Sector 16A, where various media companies and corporations have their offices.
Bhatia said that the land along the Yamuna Highway would be closer to the Jewar airport and have good road connectivity. It is only 6 km from the airport and 12 km from the Eastern Peripheral Highway, according to YEIDA officials.
It is about 70 km from Delhi and 150 km from Agra, the officials added.
