ICC ODI standings: Babar Azam closes in on Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma after heroism against Zimbabwe – cricket


Pakistan captain Babar Azam displayed a dominant performance in ODI’s three-match series against Zimbabwe. Azam scored 221 series runs in 3 games, including a sensational 125 hit in the second ODI. Due to his batting efforts, the batter gained 8 points for a total of 837 points. Although Babar remained in third position in the ranking behind Virat Kohli (871) and Rohit Sharma (855), he managed to close the gap with the two Indian stars.

The all-rounder Imad Wasim, who also looked impressive in the series, gained three places to enter the top 50. Wasim reached position 49 in the standings.

Zimbabwe’s batting duo Brendan Taylor and Sean Williams, who each scored centuries in the series, also saw themselves breaking into the top 50. While Taylor moved up nine spots to 42nd, Williams climbed 12 spots to reach the 46th position in the ranking.

In the bowling department, Pakistani pacemaker Shaheen Afridi achieved his career-best position at 16th in the standings after an outstanding performance in the series.

Afridi, who posted match-winning numbers of 5/49 in the first ODI, climbed to eight spots to reach the top 20 for the first time in her career.
