Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Decade award for his prolific record in the 50+ format. Kohli also took home the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Award for Male Cricketer of the ICC Decade. Australian Steve Smith won the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Decade award, while Afghan player Rashid Khan returned with the ICC T20I Player of the Decade award. Former India captain MS Dhoni won the ICC Spirit of Cricket of the Decade award for his gesture of calling Ian Bell back to the field after he was ruled out by the referee under unusual circumstances. Among female cricketers, Australian Ellyse Perry made a big sweep by taking the award in all three categories: ICC Player of the Decade, ODI Player of the Decade and T20I Player of the Decade.

Former India captain MS Dhoni won the ICC Spirit of Cricket of the Decade award for his gesture of calling England Ian Bell back onto the pitch after being ruled out by the referee under unusual circumstances. Dhoni’s gesture earned him the Spirit of the Cricket award in 2011 and has now established itself as one of the most encouraging gestures on the field in the last 10 years.
