After filing objections against Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and taking Dharma Productions to court, the Indian Air Force has raised objections against another of Netflix’s films, AK vs AK. The IAF is upset by how Anil Kapoor used the Air Force uniform ‘incorrectly’ in the film, while using ‘inappropriate’ language.
In the trailer, Anil is seen filming a movie in an Air Force officer costume. He then meets Anurag Kashyap, who tells him that he only has 10 hours to save his daughter Sonam Kapoor. Anil jumps through various obstacles, fights Anurag, and uses some bad words, while trying to find Sonam. The IAF has tweeted about the film, calling for the scenes to be removed.
“The IAF uniform in this video is incorrectly on and the language used is inappropriate. This does not conform to the standards of behavior for members of the Indian Armed Forces. Related scenes should be removed, ”they wrote.
Anil later took to Twitter to share a video, explaining his stance on the matter. He said in the video that it was never his intention or that of the creators to hurt anyone’s feelings. He explained how he plays a distraught actor in the film, wearing an IAF uniform as he searches for his daughter.
However, the IAF tweet was not well received by the public, who tried to remind them that Anil was wearing a costume, not an actual uniform. “Lol, it’s just a movie. You guys need to relax, ”wrote one Twitter user. “Dear IAF … Costume – NO Actor Uniform – NO IAF Official Artist Rules – NO IAF Reel Rules – NO Real Next What – Target Kids in Costumes and Uniforms,” read another tweet. “With all due respect to the enormous sacrifices you all make for the country, it is just a movie and an inaccurate description of an ‘actor’ does not demean or devalue his glory. You are beyond this. You can regard it as an inaccurate art and let it go. Rest is your choice, ”wrote another user.

Previously, the IAF had opposed the work culture represented in Gunjan Saxena. In its letter to Dharma Production, Netflix and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), IAF said that certain scenes and dialogue in the film and trailer, which were forwarded to it for viewing, were found to “portray the IAF in a slight undue negative. ”
“In order to glorify the screen persona of ‘Ex-Flt Lt Gunjan Saxena’, M / s Dharma Productions presented some situations that are misleading and portray an inappropriate work culture, especially against women at the IAF,” she says the letter.
