I Never Said Farmers’ Protests Were Political, Says Amit Shah: The Tribune India

Hyderabad, November 29

With thousands of farmers continuing their protest against the Center’s new farm laws, Union Interior Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday they were in favor of the farmers’ welfare and called their agitation apolitical.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “The new agricultural laws are aimed at the welfare of farmers. After a long time, the farmer will come out of a closed system.

Whoever wants to oppose politically, let him do it. I have never said that the farmers’ protest is political and I would never say (that it is political). “

Shah has already called on protesting farmers to move to the Burari farm in the national capital to organize their protests and said the Center was ready to hold talks with them as soon as they move to the designated location.

Responding to a question, Shah also criticized the head of AIMIM and the Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, for their comments on the action the NDA government took on allegations that Pakistanis, Rohingya and Bangladeshis were staying illegally in Hyderabad.

Shah demanded that Owaisi give in in writing about expelling those who were staying illegally to initiate government action against them.

“When I act, they (Owaisi and other parties) create a scandal in Parliament. Haven’t they seen it?” I ask.

“Give me a written one to expel the Rohingya and Bangladeshis … then I’ll take action. It shouldn’t be a speech limited to elections.

When the matter is discussed in Parliament, who is on your side? the people of the country know it, “added Shah.
