Srinagar:
Responding to the Aam Aadmi Party’s claim that Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is under house arrest, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said Tuesday that he feels he has seen “this script unfold in another place too “.
“The AAP claims that the Chief Minister is under house arrest. Police deny the claim. I don’t know why, but I feel like I’ve seen this script elsewhere as well,” said Vice President of the National Conference Abdullah in a tweet. .
Omar Abdullah was released on March 24, 2020 after more than seven months in detention in Srinagar. Abdullah was among several political leaders who had been placed under house arrest after the central government revoked Article 370 of the Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
The AAP in Delhi had claimed that Kejriwal had been placed under house arrest on Tuesday, a day after he visited protesting farmers on the Singhu border.
“BJP Delhi Police have placed Chief Minister Kejriwal under house arrest since he visited farmers yesterday. No one has been allowed to leave or enter his residence,” the Aam Aadmi Party said in a tweet.
Satish Golcha, special police commissioner, denied the AAP’s claims, saying “there are absolutely no restrictions” on the movement of Delhi’s chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal.
“These claims are totally unfounded and unfounded. There are absolutely no restrictions. The Chief Minister has been fulfilling his usual commitments and has been moving his residence. There is adequate security in the area to keep the peace and prevent the adverse incident.” added. Golcha told the media.
