“I come from a family of farmers,” writes Take an open letter to farmers; PM Modi urges to read

Amid the ongoing protest by farmers that he is completing on the 22nd Thursday, the Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar wrote an open letter addressing the farmers where he said that a misunderstanding had been created between some groups of farmers regarding reforms.

“Several agricultural unions have welcomed the reforms and are happy,” Tomar said, adding that there were farmers in some regions who had already started to reap the benefits of these reforms. In addition, he urged farmers not to be influenced by those who spread lies out of political selfishness.

“As the country’s agriculture minister, my duty is to dispel the misconceptions of farmers, so that all farmers in this country are free from tension. It is my duty to expose the conspiracy that is being hatched to create a wall between the farmers and the Center, ”he wrote in Hindi.

“I am from a family of farmers. I grew up seeing and understanding the challenges of agriculture. I have seen the anguish of the untimely rain, the happiness of the timely monsoon. These were parts of my growth. I have also seen the wait of a week to sell crops, “wrote the Minister of Agriculture.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Tomar had expressed his feelings through this letter and urged all farmers to read it.

These are the key points of the Tomar letter:

1. The MSP, APMC system will not stop.

2. Farmers’ lands are not in danger. The agreement will be for crops, not for land.

3. The price of the product will be determined in the agricultural agreement.

Four. Farmers will be able to finalize the contract whenever they want.

5. Contract farming is already there. Many states have introduced it. Many states have contract farming laws.

6. There have been consultations for two decades before the laws were passed.

Earlier in the day, Tomar met with Union Interior Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal at BJP headquarters to discuss farmers’ issues.

Prime Minister Modi will hold a virtual conference on Friday with farmers from Madhya Pradesh, where the BJP-led state government will transfer Rs 1,660 crore to farmers’ 35 lakh accounts.

Five rounds of talks have been held between representatives of farmers’ groups and the Center, which have been inconclusive. Farmers have been camping for several weeks at the border points of the national capital seeking the elimination of the reforms. In a major development, the Supreme Court said Thursday that it will not interfere with the ongoing turmoil at this stage.

“At this stage we believe that the farmers’ protest should be allowed to continue unimpeded and without protesters or police disrupting the peace,” the high court said.
