Yediyurappa made this statement in response to Congress requesting his resignation due to a legal case against the CM.
Attacking his detractors, Karnataka Prime Minister BS Yediyurappa claimed on Friday that he would continue as prime minister as long as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Interior Minister Amit Shah back him. In his response to the motion of thanks for the Governor’s speech, Yediyurappa said that few leaders daydream and almost every day they say that he will be replaced by someone.
“I want to take this opportunity to dispel those rumors by stating that as long as the people are with me, and Prime Minister Modi and Interior Minister Shah back me, no one in the state will be able to replace me,” he said.
He added that he will come out of all legal battles as long as Shah backs him up.
“I am ready to face hundreds of legal cases. I am not worried at all, as none other than Modi and Shah have put their faith in me. That will not be shaken by anyone,” he said.
The CM added that the opposition leader Siddaramaiah is aware of things, how false cases are being presented against politicians.
“With prejudice, people are bringing cases against politicians, so no party leader will believe just because someone files cases against me or someone. I want to remind leaders of Congress that I am often asked to resign based on cases that have been filed. against me, that several of its national leaders are on bail and are facing cases, so it is useless to ask me to resign, “he said.
