I am ashamed to have associated with TMC for 21 years: Suvendu Adhikari | India News

KOLKATA: The newly incorporated leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari said Saturday that he was embarrassed to have been associated with Trinamool Congress (TMC) for so long in his career.
Addressing the party workers in the BJP office here, Adhikari said: “The political party I had previously associated with has no discipline now. It has become a one-party enterprise. I am ashamed to have associated with the party for 21 years”.
The former minister said West Bengal needs the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “It is due to the self-sacrifice of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee that we were able to live in West Bengal. Only the combination of the BJP government in the center and that in Bengal can lead the state towards economic development and tackle the problem of unemployment,” he added. Adhikari emphasized.
“I would like to thank our Interior Minister Amit Shahji for accepting us in the land of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar on Saturday. BJP is the largest political party in the world. Now, I am a member of this nationalistic, pluralistic, disciplined and patriotic party.” . . Our goal would be to make the party win the next Assembly elections and create ‘Sonar Bangla’. ”
Adhikari further accused the TMC-led West Bengal government of depriving 73 lakhs of state farmers by failing to implement PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi’s policy.
He stated: “BJP workers have been beaten mercilessly. Bogus cases have been framed against them. 135 workers have sacrificed their lives to lead the party’s rule in West Bengal.”
Suvendu Adhikari, former TMC and MLA minister, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Interior Minister Amit Shah at a rally in Midnapore, West Bengal, on December 19.
