Hyderabad 2020 Civic Election Results – Starting tomorrow at 8 a.m. CCTV cameras to record the entire process


The counting of votes in the Greater Hyderabad City Council election will begin at 8 am Friday amid elaborate security arrangements. Counting centers have been set up in 30 places and 8,152 officials will participate in the process, which will be recorded on closed-circuit television cameras.

Since ballots were used for the election, the results will be known later on Friday. The vote count can be followed on the Telangana state electoral commission website.

The vote took place on December 1 following a high-octane campaign that. however, it did not coincide with the percentage of electoral participation. Only 34 lakh of voters cast their ballots out of around 74 lakh of eligible voters, which translated into voter turnout of only 46.55 percent.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi won the last elections in 2016 with 99 out of 150 districts. Asaduddin Owai’s AIMIM had won 44 seats, while the BJP won four seats, the Cogress two and the TDP one.

BJP campaigned vigorously with Union Interior Minister Amit Shah, Party Chairman JP adda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar, Smriti Irani and MoS (Home ) G Kishan Reddy, member of Lok Sabha from Secunderabad, MP from Tejasvi Surya party participating in the campaign. The GHMC election is considered a litmus test for the 2023 state assembly elections, as 24 segments of the assembly fall within the GHMC boundaries.
