The next phase of the world’s largest Covid-19 vaccination campaign for age-appropriate population groups began on March 1. Registration opened at 9am on Monday and citizens will be able to register, book an appointment for vaccination, anytime, anywhere, using the Co-WIN platform.
A user guide for citizen registration and vaccination appointment has also been uploaded on the websites of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Health Authority (NHA).

What can you do in www.cowin.gov.in self-registration module?
1) Sign up for a vaccination session
2) Selection of the vaccination center of convenience
3) Reserve your space to receive the vaccine
4) Reschedule the vaccination date
How to register for the Covid vaccine?
- Login to www.cowin.gov.in
- Enter your cell phone number
- Get an OTP to create your account
- Enter the OTP and click the “Verify” button.
- You will be directed to the vaccination registration page. On this page, there will be an option to choose a proof of photo identification.
- Enter your name, age, gender and upload an identity document
- The page will ask if you have any comorbidity, which can be answered by simply clicking ‘yes’, ‘no’.
- If you are over 45, upload the medical certificate as proof of comorbidity
- Once the details for registration are entered, click the “Register” button.
- Once registration is complete; the system will display the “Account Details”
- A citizen can add three more people linked to this mobile phone number by clicking the “Add more” button.
- There will be a button that says “Schedule Appointment”. Now click on it.
- Search for a vaccination center of your choice by state, district, block, and PIN code.
- The date and availability will also be displayed.
- Click on the ‘book’ button.
- Upon successful completion of the reservation, you will receive a message. Confirmation data must be shown at the vaccination center.
- Once the appointment is set, it can be rescheduled at any later stage, but before the day of the vaccination appointment.
- To do this, log back in to the “Citizen Registration” module, with your mobile number already registered.
- After the first dose, the reservation of the second dose will be made automatically.
