CAT 2020 result: Vishesh Garg, 23, who scored a 99.99 percentile on the Common Admission Test (CAT 2020), always wanted to become a clerk. But the success stories of Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai inspired him to take management as a professional career. With a 99.99 percentile on CAT, Garg now believes he’s gotten closer to achieving his dream.
“While studying BTech in electronics and communication, I used to read inspiring stories from Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai, who are shaping the world by leading tech giants like Microsoft, Google. I felt that one day I could become CEO if I get admitted to a good high school, ”he said.

After completing his BTech from NIT Hamirpur in 2019, Garg, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, spent almost two years at a technology company in Bengaluru.
He wants to get an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM Bangalore) or the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi. His second preferences are IIM Ahmedabad, Kolkata. “Although I did not get a 100 percentile, I am happy with my performance. Two things that helped me get a good score are the mock tests and a thorough study plan, ”Garg said.

He said the mock tests helped him understand his weak areas, familiarized him with the paper pattern and increased his speed in answering questions. “After an unprepared attempt last time, I took my preparation seriously to score well. I signed up for TIME’s online class in June. Aside from the lectures and mock test series, I took guidance from online resources, followed the preparation strategies of the best, and studied books like Arun Sharma’s CAT series, ”said the 23-year-old.

The CAT result was released on January 2, a total of nine students scored 100 percentile, of these five are from IIT.
