MS Dhoni is often considered an IPL legend and for good reason. The former captain of the Indian team is one of the highest paid players in the tournament and world cricket. During its heyday, MS Dhoni was part of BCCI’s top group and landed a high-value core contract from the Indian cricket body. He was also one of the best players in the IPL auctions and made a great deal of money while representing his teams in the Indian Premier League.
MS Dhoni – Highest Earning IPL Player
MS Dhoni’s victory at ICC World T20 in 2007 helped him become the most expensive player during the IPL auction in 2008. MS Dhoni joined the Chennai-based IPL franchise for a whopping USD 1.5 million (INR 6 crore back then). Due to the explosive growth of India’s premier cricket event, we can now see uncapped players pocketing more than that amount. However, in the past, it was an amount that no one would have thought of winning while playing a 2-month event.
