Until now, there were thermal cameras that helped measure people’s body temperatures and determine if they had Covid-19 symptoms or now. Now Vehant Technologies has developed a thermal camera called FebriEye that not only measures body temperature but also detects facial mask and social distancing violations. The camera system also sounds an alarm in case of any deviation.
According to an IANS report, the camera can be used at event entrances, airports, subway stations, manufacturing plants, buildings, hotels, shopping complexes, shopping malls, and closed societies during the Covid-19 spread.

The report mentions that the FebriEye face mask detection feature uses a visible transmission from the camera combined with “AI techniques” to detect and generate an alert for people not wearing face masks. An easy to use interface allows monitoring and reviewing alerts generated by the system.
Rao said this feature not only signals people for not following the minimum acceptable guidelines for social distancing, but also alerts administrative authorities to take appropriate measures.
