Democrat Joe Biden on Saturday thanked the people of the United States for their massive victory over Donald Trump in the presidential election. Minutes after becoming the 46th president, Biden said he will be “a president for all Americans.”
“America, it is an honor that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a president for all Americans, whether they vote for me or not. I will keep the faith they have placed in me, ”the president-elect said in a tweet.
The newly elected president also issued a statement shortly after his victory against the Republican candidate. He expressed gratitude for the trust voters in all states place in him and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
Biden thanked people for coming forward to cast their votes in large numbers despite the prevailing coronavirus pandemic that has claimed 1,246,221 lives in the US.
