The trust that people have repeatedly shown in Prime Minister Modi is something that needs to be understood, Kushboo says.
Actress and former congressional spokesperson, Kushboo Sundar, joined the BJP on Monday, having sent her resignation letter to congressional president Sonia Gandhi. He said he had been watching the action since last March.
Ms Sundar, who lives in Chennai, joined the BJP in New Delhi in the presence of the head of the party’s state unit, L. Murugan, and the national secretary general CT Ravi, along with two others from the Tamil Nadu journalist , Madan Ravichandran and former India Revenue Service (IRS) Sarvana Kumar.
“I promise to carry out whatever task the party entrusts to me and to express faith in the leadership of our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Hee”He said at a press conference.
The reasons
Later, talking to The Hindu, Ms. Sundar was more sincere. He said that he had discussed the reasons for resigning from Congress in his letter to Ms Gandhi. In it, he referred to “a few elements, settled at a higher level within the party, people who have no connectivity with the reality of the land or with public recognition” who were “dictating terms. He added: “People like me, who sincerely wanted to work for the party, are being pressured and repressed.”
Ms. Sundar said: “This letter was ready in March, and since I joined the Congress in the presence of Ms. Gandhi, I wanted to deliver the resignation letter in person. But the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent closure prevented it. ”
Mention Modi
At the time of writing, she said, she was unsure about joining the BJP. “As a person who held the position of spokesperson, it was my duty to attack government policies despite the fact that all bills have certain flaws. But gradually I felt that the clarity that the BJP has, in terms of its ideology and leadership, was important, rather than being in a party where the question of leadership is also changing. The trust that people have repeatedly shown in Prime Minister Modi is something to be understood. ”
On the question of how he would deal with the perception that the BJP, as a party, did not exactly consider itself friendly to minorities, he replied with a single line: “If the BJP is anti-minority, then Congress is anti-Hindu.” ? “
He said he was awaiting an assignment from the state unit and did not elaborate on how he viewed the future of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, where the party has a miniscule presence.
