Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Janata Dal (United) MP Harivansh on being elected as vice president of the Rajya Sabha for a second term.

The prime minister said that members of the House have shown the same respect for Harivansh as those who know him. Prime Minister Modi said the way he runs the House shows that he has earned the respect he demands.

The prime minister also touched on Harivansh’s roots and said he was punished for his origin.
