HATHRAS: The Town of UP’s Hathras where the 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped before she died was out of the reach of the media and politicians for the second day in a row. Many of those who tried to enter and approach the grieving family were abused, pushed to the ground and forced to leave on Friday.

A four-member Trinamool team: MPs Derek O’Brien, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Pratima Mondal and the former deputy Mamata Thakur, who were approaching the town, encountered similar resistance. Cross-examination is on, statements are being recorded. We will allow entry only after the investigation is over, ”Hathras’s additional SP Prakash Kumar said. “However, politicians will not be allowed due to the situation of law and order.
