Supporters of Bhim’s army chief Chandrashekhar Azad and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters gathered in Jantar Mantar on Friday night to protest against the gang rape of the 19-year-old Dalit woman in Hathras of Uttar Pradesh.
Azad said he will visit Hathras and urged the Supreme Court to take notice of the incident.
“I will visit #Hathras. Our fight will continue until UP CM resigns and justice is served. I urge SC to become aware of the incident, ”he said.
Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and CPI Leader D Raja also joined the protests.
“The UP government has no right to remain in power. Our demand is for justice to be done, ”Yechury said.
