The Supreme Court will hear a guilty plea seeking an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the special investigation team (SIT) into the murder and murder of Hathras on Tuesday.
The petition of a social activist Satyama Dubey and two lawyers Vishal Thakre and Rudra Pratap Yadav claiming that the Uttar Pradesh (UP) authorities have not dealt with the matter will be heard by a three-judge tribunal headed by the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde.
The petitioners alleged that a grave injustice was committed against the woman and her family, since her body was buried by the police without her consent.

“Police personnel after getting the body of the deceased to be cremated without the consent of the relatives of the deceased. The police authorities have not fulfilled their duties towards the victim and (are) trying to protect the accused. A grave injustice has been committed against the victim and the system is silent on the matter, ”the petition says.
The 19-year-old Dalit woman was gang-raped and abused by four upper caste men on September 14 and died on September 29 at Safdurjung Hospital in Delhi.
His body was allegedly cremated by Uttar Pradesh police in haste without the consent of family members, although UP police have refuted this claim.
The statement before the high court also sought a transfer of the judgment in the UP case to Delhi.
“The case may be turned over to the Central Bureau of Investigation or an SIT formed to investigate the matter under a sitting or withdrawn Supreme Court or High Court judge, (and) the judgment of the matter may be transferred from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi, ”the petitioners prayed.
