- He said that the SC should monitor the CBI investigation into the Hatras rape case by keeping the PIL pending before it.
- The PIL filed by former judicial official Chandra Bhan Singh alleged that the “callousness and demeanor” of the state administration and police officers in treating the victim led to his death and sought an investigation by any agency other than affiliated with the government of Uttar Pradesh. .
A 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by four upper caste men in Hathras on September 14. She died on September 29 at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi during treatment.
