The four defendants in the Hathras gang rape and murder case were brought to Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat for a polygraph test and brain mapping. Earlier on Saturday, they were released from Aligarh jail and taken by the CBI team, escorted by the Hathras police, for their trip to Gandhi Nagar.
The defendants will be returned to Aligarh Jail after their tests are conducted.
“The defendants will be subjected to polygraph tests and brain mapping at Gandhi Nagar. They will go back to jail after the tests, “said Alok Singh, superintendent of Aligarh jail.
The four defendants, Sandeep, Ravi, Ramu and Lavkush Sikarwar, are from the village of Boolagarhi, below the Chandpa police station, in the Hathras district.
A 19-year-old Dalit girl was assaulted, gang-raped on 14 September in the village and died on 29 September at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
The investigation was turned over to CBI and the Allahabad High Court is monitoring the investigation following instructions from the Supreme Court.

The CBI team has recently resumed its investigation into the incident which sparked national outrage against the handling of the case by the Uttar Pradesh police. On Thursday, some members of the CBI team arrived at the victim’s home and interacted with family members.
On Wednesday, the CBI team visited the residence of the defendants as part of their investigation.

The team members also questioned Chotu, a boy from the village, who was the first to arrive at the crime scene in the village.
During its investigation of more than a month, CBI has questioned relatives of the four defendants. The team also went to the Aligarh jail, where all these defendants are located, and to the JN Medical College of Aligarh and interacted with the doctors and staff involved in the treatment of the victim who was in the medical college until 28 of September, before she was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital. in Delhi.
