Chandigarh, May 14
The Haryana government decided to start special bus services on selected routes starting Friday to make it easier for people stranded within the state due to the closure, an official said Thursday.
For this, passengers need to get a ticket online.
The buses will run only within the state and will not operate in areas severely affected by Covid-19.
A government spokesman said that ticket reservations can only be made through the portal hartrans.gov.in.
Buses will operate from state transportation stops to scheduled bus stops. Passengers will not be allowed to get on or off the bus during the trip.
Buses passing Covid-affected districts will go through a detour or overpasses. A maximum of 30 passengers will be allowed on board following the rules of social distancing. The thermal evaluation of the passengers will be carried out before entering the bus stop.
The wearing of masks will be mandatory, without which they will not be allowed to board the bus, he said.
If the movement of the bus is not possible on any route for any reason, the bus will be canceled and passengers will be informed two hours before the scheduled departure time. The fee will be reimbursed accordingly, the spokesperson added. IANS
