Even as farmers across the state are preparing for Sunday’s proposed road blockade in the call given by Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU), the Haryana government told deputy commissioners and SP on Saturday to treat protesters with “tact and patience”. .
Vjai Vardhan, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of the Interior, has written to all divisional commissioners, IG, DC, police commissioners and SP to ensure, however, that the protesters cannot take the law into their hands and that they take immediate measures against those who are indulged in looting, arson or damage to life, property or vehicles.
“All CDs, SSPs can communicate with the organizers and guarantee a peaceful protest. The organizers should be advised and convinced to register their protest in a peaceful and lawful manner and to desist from blocking roads and paths, ”the letter said.
District officials have been told to divert traffic immediately in case any road or highway is blocked so that people are not faced with inconvenience.
Executive magistrates have been told to remain present in the district and to be stationed with their police counterparts in all locations where protesters are expected to gather.
The government has also directed civil surgeons to ensure that doctors remain present in hospitals with all their might for prompt treatment in the event of injuries.
Private hospitals are also alerted to be prepared.
Ambulances along with doctors and paramedical personnel are parked on the roads with police force where the gathering of protesters is anticipated.
