On Tuesday, the Haryana government decided to limit the limit of people in indoor and outdoor gatherings in parts of the state in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic starting on November 26.
“A gathering of 50 people is allowed in the hallways, while 100 can meet in open spaces in the Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari, Rohtak, Panipat and Hisar districts,” Prime Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said.
He also added that in other districts of Haryana, 100 people will be allowed to gather in closed spaces while 200 in open spaces.
Recently, districts in western Uttar Pradesh such as Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad have restricted social gatherings to 100. Necessary measures will be taken according to the prevailing situation in various places to stop the spread of the infection, a state official said.
Previously, due to the increase in Civid cases in various states in the country, the central government had sent high-level teams to Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Manipur and Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij distributed masks to people in the Ambala cantonment here on Monday as he urged them to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines.
On Monday, Haryana reported another large increase of 2,663 new coronavirus cases, bringing the number of cases in the state to 2,19,963 and with 28 more deaths, the number of COVID-19-related deaths rose to 2,216.
According to the state health department’s daily bulletin, of the new cases, the worst-affected Gurgaon district reported 866 cases, while 577 infections were recorded in Faridabad.
Gurgaon and Faridabad are the two worst affected districts, both in the Delhi-National Capital region.
