The 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) finally has its two finalists after an excruciating wait for eight months. The tournament had to come to an abrupt halt after the league stage in March due to COVID-19 outbreak. But the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) managed to create a biobubble for the playoffs and fans have witnessed three high-quality matches so far with the Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars reaching the final.

The Qalandars defeated the Multan Sultans in the second tie on Sunday to reserve their spot in the final to be played on November 17. David Wiese was the talk of the town for his exceptional comprehensive display for the Qalandars. But even pacemaker Haris Rauf did his part by choosing three crucial terrains during his four more spell and one of them was from the legendary Shahid afridi.

The all-rounder came at bat after Rilee Rossouw’s wicket knockdown at 14 and the stage was set for him to play a quick hit to keep his team on the hunt. But very few expected what followed! Haris Rauf was furious and threw a sensational yorker on the swing at 145.9 km / h to break Afridi’s middle stump. And interestingly, after bowling in such an unplayable delivery, he immediately folded his hands in apology to the former Pakistani cricketer.

David Wiese leads the Lahore Qalandars to the final

Game-wise, after being invited to hit first, Lahore Qalandars hit a colossal 182 on the board thanks to a brilliant hit with the bat from David Wiese. He hit an undefeated 48 on just 21 balls with five fours and three sixes as the Qalandars managed to add 71 runs on the last 34 balls. This turned out to be a crucial and game-changing inning as the Sultans were only able to reach 157 runs in pursuit of a great score.

Wiese flashed the ball at the windows of Adam Lyth, Ravi Bopara and Sohail Tanvir to return with the 3/27 numbers. Fittingly, he won the Man of the Match award for his heroic deeds. However, Haris Rauf was the man who stole the moment of the match with his sensational yorker first and then with his kind gesture towards Shahid Afridi.
