Actress Dia Mirza may look the same as when she was crowned Miss Asia Pacific in 2000, but she will turn 39 on Wednesday. The actress made her film debut in 2001 alongside R Madhavan in Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein and has never looked back.
Dia was the second runner-up in the Miss India 2000 pageant, losing the race to Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra. However, all three made history that year, winning the Miss Asia Pacific, Miss Universe and Miss World pageants, respectively.
However, their film careers have played out very differently, something Dia has previously said she has no regrets about. In 2016, she spoke to the Hindustan Times about the comparisons being made between the three. Speaking about Priyanka’s Hollywood debut with Quantico, she said: “I’m so proud of her. I think our journey is a great example to set because if you look at Lara, Priyanka and me, I think we are people who have defined our own path. We have done exactly what our individuality has determined for us. Priyanka is doing well in acting … Lara enjoys motherhood and makes movies … and we are not envious of her. “
Dia added that Priyanka and Lara would also say the same about being compared to each other. “If you listen to what Priyanka says, she would say the same, just like Lara. We are all the result of what we call, ‘what we have chosen for ourselves’. We are as liberated as we can by the ideas we have of ourselves and as stunted as an idea of ourselves, ”he said.

Dia was recently seen on Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad. She played the divorced mother of a young girl, who gave protagonist Taapsee Pannu’s character hope and courage to live a life of respect. Her performance in the supporting role was praised by fans.
Dia’s most memorable films include RHTDM, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Parineeta, and Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd.
