Have before expressed opposition to the new agricultural laws, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) chief and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal, whose party is a member of the NDA, announced on Saturday his resignation from three Lok Sabha committees and said he will march to Delhi on December 26 with two lakhs of supporters, in protest against the three laws. .

“The Delhi government is in the mood to crush the farmers’ protests. After consulting with all RLP officials, we have decided that on December 26, two Lakh Jawans and Kisans will march towards Delhi through the Shahjahanpur border. This is a matter of honor for Rajasthan. We will not tolerate attempts by governments to erase the existence of the farming community, ”Beniwal told reporters in Jaipur, adding that a decision would be made during the march on whether the RLP would continue in the NDA.

Beniwal, a prominent Jat leader, enjoys considerable support among youth and the community in districts such as Nagaur and Barmer in Rajasthan. “The Delhi government should not take farmers’ protests lightly. If protests break out across the country, it will be difficult for the BJP to confront them, ”Beniwal said on Saturday.

The RLP’s demands were the withdrawal of the three farm laws and the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission report, he said. “In support of the farmers’ protests, I resign from three committees of Lok Sabha: the Standing Committee on Industry, the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Oil and Natural Gas and the Committee on Petitions. I have sent an email in this regard to the Lok Sabha spokesperson. “

In his letter of resignation from the committees, which he shared on Twitter, Beniwal also mentioned issues such as the failure to file an FIR for an “attack” against him in Barmer, the failure to spend CSR funds and the environmental authorizations obtained on the basis of ‘wrong facts’.

By postponing the decision to remain in the NDA until December 26, saying that he would do so “in the presence of thousands of people,” Beniwal indicated that he had decided. “You must have understood today … when I resign from the committees … Hanuman Beniwal’s path will definitely be separate,” he said.

He added that the RLP would not enter into any alliance for the three-seat Assembly by-elections and the 2023 Assembly elections in Rajasthan.

Beniwal criticized the Rajasthan government led by Ashok Gehlot on issues such as law and order and accused him of colluding with former CM Vasundhara Raje. Beniwal has long been a detractor of Raje, and he left the BJP to form the RLP before the 2018 Assembly elections due to this gap, winning three seats. However, the RLP and BJP had lined up for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, with the RLP winning just one seat, the one contested by Beniwal.
