MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) arrested an employee of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for allegedly providing secret information about Indian fighter jets and their manufacturing units to ISI.
The police are trying to find out who is responsible for the accused. The accused has been identified as Dipak Shirsath.
Police said they worked with the information they received and as a result, the defendant, a HAL employee, was arrested by ATS from Nashik.
During questioning, it was revealed that the defendant was in constant contact with ISI, a Pakistani intelligence agency, and was providing secret information about Indian fighter jets and their sensitive details, along with information related to HAL, the manufacturing unit of planes in Ozar, Nashik, the air base and prohibited areas within the manufacturing unit to the ISI.
A case of sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Official secrets lawFrom 1923 it has been registered against the accused. Police have seized three mobile phones with five SIM cards and two memory cards of the accused. The seized items will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. The defendant has been taken into police custody for 10 days.
