Gurugram: Not only the rush, the failures also mark the HSRP process | Gurgaon News

GURUGRAM: The sudden rush in town to get a High security registration plate (HSRP) for vehicles after Delhi GovernmentThe repression has hit another wall. Although the Haryana Government has started a online application process To deal with the rush, there have been complaints about repeatedly crashing server and other glitches.
Following a Supreme Court order, HSRP has been made mandatory for all vehicles across the country since 2018. But Delhi’s decision to impose a fine of Rs 5,500 on vehicles without these number plates o The color-coded stickers have had a cascading effect throughout NCR, from where vehicles must regularly travel to the capital.
While applications can be made online at Haryana and people can receive the dishes at home, many still flock to the HSRP Centers created by the government. In recent days, these centers have seen a flood of vehicle owners to obtain the new license plates. The result is that many of them have to return empty-handed because officials cannot handle the surge in requests.
“I had returned to my hometown in Bihar when my company announced that I was working from home. After returning last week, the police detained me in Delhi for not having an HSRP. I have been running to the centers for the last two days. But they always ask me to come the next day, ”said Manoj Singh, a resident of New Palam Vihar.
Others said that they couldn’t even complete the application process because the website had started displaying error messages. “When I heard about the government’s switch to online mode, I was very relieved. I tried the application online, but when I got to the final stage of making the payment, the server crashed and started showing error messages. I called customer service, but their response was very generic. They said the server was handling too many requests and problems were being investigated, ”said Kunal Sharma, a resident who travels to the Mehrauli area of Delhi for work.
The company that was tasked with issuing HSRP declared itself powerless. He said the number of applications had tripled, but the number of accountants had also increased. “Before, only 50 to 100 people visited the centers to obtain HSRP or fuel labels. But now, we have been seeing more than 250 to 300 people on average. Although the process is short and fluid, handling too many requests suddenly puts some pressure on. People have to be patient if they come at the last minute to get the new license plates, ”said an official from Link Utasav, the company hired to install HSRP in the state. The official added that in the center of Beriwala Bagh, six counters were installed to accommodate more people.
Administrative officials noted that despite repeated reminders, vehicle owners in the city had not caught on to the idea of upgrading to the new license plates. “For the past year, we had been asking residents to get HSRPs, but the response was very tepid. We are doing our best to facilitate the process. If people are facing a rush at the hubs and heavy website traffic, those complaints need to be raised and we will investigate them. No individual solutions can be provided. We can think about organizing camps if the RWAs approach us with such a request, ”said Jitendra Kumar, the SDM of the North.
